I told you I would be back with another post soon, and I stood true to my promise! I also said that I might have a Star Wars post up soon, and I stood true to that promise, too!
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premiered in Los Angeles last night, and the film was a huge ____. (In that blank is either going to be “hit” or “failure”; stay tuned to see!) Unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to see most of the premiere (I was at a theater committee meeting), but I did get the chance to see about over thirty minutes of it. Some people that interviewed at the blue carpet premiere included Frank Oz, Ian McDiarmid, Richard E. Grant, Greg Grunberg, Joonas Suotamo, Ahmed Best, J.J. Abrams, Anthony Daniels, John Boyega, Deborah Chow, Dave Filoni (my arch-nemesis; more on that later), Keri Russell, Mark Hamill, Billy Dee Williams, Kathleen Kennedy, Kelly Marie Tran, Naomi Ackie, Ming-Na Wen, Dominic Monaghan, Oscar Isaac, and Daisy Ridley. Jimmy Kimmel also had a few stars on his show Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night: J.J. Abrams, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Billy Dee Williams, Anthony Daniels, Naomi Ackie, Kelly Marie Tran, and Keri Russell. I haven’t seen it yet, but I’m planning to watch it tonight.
Anyway, about Dave Filoni. I don’t believe I’ve spoken about him before. I’ve written two entire essays about him and why he’s trying to destroy the Star Wars saga! The essay also includes the people revolving around his evil plot: Kathleen Kennedy, George Lucas, James Cameron, Jon Favreau, J.J. Abrams, Gareth Edwards, and others. Here’s a link to the essay:

I want to talk about the first reviews of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and then rank the characters by how likely they are to . . . perish. DUN DUN DUN!
The Reviews
The overall reviews so far are exactly what I expected: mixed. They’re mostly favored in the “light side” rather than the “dark side” (i.e. good and bad), but there’s still some people who didn’t think that it was the “best finale” and instead believed that it was “rude to Rian Johnson [the director & writer of The Last Jedi]”. Of course, J.J. Abrams was trying to rewrite The Last Jedi in a way that made sense to his version of the sequel trilogy (he continues to say that he’s “not trying to change” The Last Jedi, but we all know he’s just being kind to Johnson).
Celebrities such as Ava DuVernay, Elizabeth Banks, and Josh Gad also had positive comments to say about the film. Here’s some edited excerpts of what other viewers had to say:
- The Rise of Skywalker has a ton of content packed into one movie as well and wastes no time. It’s like two Star Wars movies in one. Lots of fan service bonuses too. – Rob Keyes
- I’ve seen #StarWarsTheRiseofSkywalker. It’s . . . a lot. There’s a lot I like and some I loved but overall my feelings are pretty mixed. It felt like an apology for The Last Jedi in some ways and a sequel to The Force Awakens in many, which I found frustrating. – Terri Schwartz
- Star Wars: #TheRiseOfSkwalker is TRULY a satisfying conclusion to the saga. It answers practically everything you want to know and more.. with some twists and turns. If you think you know what’s going to happen, think again. – Mansoor Mithaiwala
- STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER is certainly the most convoluted Star Wars. There is a lot I liked, but the first half gets so bogged down with exposition and new plot and doodads and beacons and transmitters, it feels like it should have been three movies on its own. – Mike Ryan
- I’m still processing #StarWars #TheRiseofSkywalker. The emotional highs are spectacular, and there are a lot of payoffs (some earned, some not). But some choices feel like an unnecessary course-correct from The Last Jedi and some just plain don’t make sense. Need to see it again. – Laura Prudom
- #TheRiseOfSkywalker is ummmmmm a lot! tons to love here, no shortage of crowd pleasing moments and twists and cameos, but also quite a bit to [ponder]. Some faves: Jannah, D-O, [and] Finn of course. And what a lovel send off for our General Leia. – Angie J. Han
So, the consensus is: A massive finale to the sequel trilogy that visibly rewrites The Last Jedi and answers all the questions in a thrilling and sometimes unnecessary way.
Now, with that out of our way, let’s do what we did for Avengers: Endgame. Rank the characters by probability of death.
The Ranking
There will be spoilers for all Star Wars films except The Rise of Skywalker ahead. If you want to go into the theater with no expectations whatsoever, I would recommend reading one or several of my other posts. And also, whenever for the date of birth on the characters I say BBY or ABY, that means “before” or “after” the Battle of Yavin, which is basically the same as the Battle of the Death Star in the original Star Wars (also called A New Hope).
Without further ado, let’s go!
17. The Small Droids: BB-8, D-O, and R2-D2
- Actors: N/A
- Appearances: Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (BB-8); None yet (D-O); Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace, Star Wars: Episode II — Attack of the Clones, Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: The Last Jedi (R2-D2)
- Major Affiliations: New Republic (formerly), Resistance (BB-8); Resistance (D-O); Jedi Order (formerly), Galactic Republic (formerly), New Republic (formerly), Resistance (R2)
- Homeworlds: Unknown (BB-8 & D-O); Naboo (R2)
- Major Allies: Poe Dameron, Rey, Finn, Rose Tico (BB-8); BB-8, Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron, Zorii Bliss (D-O); C-3PO, Leia, Chewbacca, Rey (R2-D2)
- Dates of Construction: Unknown (All)
- Droid Classes: Astromech droids (BB-8 and R2); Unknown (D-O)
- Last Seen: On the Millennium Falcon with the remaining Resistance (BB-8 & R2); Offscreen (D-O)
- Possibility of Being Destroyed: 10% (BB-8); 5% (D-O); 25% (R2); 13.3% for an average
I believe that BB-8 and D-O definitely are not going to be destroyed, unless there’s a ginormous shocker. They’re both new droid additions to the franchise (we don’t get a lot of new central droid characters) and I don’t think it would be a smart move to destroy them. However, R2-D2 has a slight chance at being destroyed. It’s possible, but I again doubt it. I think that these tiny little guys are declared SAFE.
16. Rose Tico
- Actress: Kelly Marie Tran
- Appearance(s): Star Wars: The Last Jedi
- Major Affiliation(s): Resistance
- Homeworld: Hays Minor
- Major Allies: Finn, Poe Dameron, BB-8, Paige Tico (formerly)
- Date of Birth: Five years after Paige Tico (or unknown)
- Species: Human
- Last Seen: Unconscious and injured on the Millennium Falcon with the remaining Resistance
- Possibility of Death: 15%
There is one major reason that I doubt that Rose is going to die: the way she sacrificed herself in The Last Jedi in a way that almost killed her. The wording of this sounds kind of weird after reading it, but I think it makes sense. But then again, J.J. Abrams did completely rewrite The Last Jedi, however, with that being said, I think he’s smart enough not to take back the emotion that Rose’s sacrifice had on audience viewers. Plus, her sister Paige died in the first scene of Last Jedi, and Star Wars tries not to repeat itself. I declare Rose SAFE.
15. Jannah
- Actress: Naomi Ackie
- Appearance(s): None yet
- Major Affiliation(s): Resistance
- Homeworld: Kef Bir
- Major Allies: Finn, BB-8
- Date of Birth: Unknown
- Species: Human
- Last Seen: Offscreen
- Possibility of Death: 20%
Jannah is a new character that we haven’t seen a ton of in the trailers. There are theories out there that she’s Lando Calrissian’s daughter or an ex-stormtrooper of some sort. The latter would give her a connection to Finn (another ex-First Order Stormtrooper), which would make sense as we’ve seen the two together in a few shots from the trailers. Anyway, as in the case of D-O, Jannah is a new character, and Star Wars doesn’t always kill off characters the first film they’ve introduced them in; except Vice Admiral Holdo, but that again was Rian Johnson (i.e. J.J. Abrams’ opposite). I don’t have much more to say on this character, besides that she is SAFE.
14. Lieutenant Kaydel Ko Connix
- Actress: Billie Lourd
- Appearances: Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: The Last Jedi
- Major Affiliation(s): Resistance
- Homeworld: Dulathia
- Major Allies: Leia, Poe Dameron, BB-8, Admiral Ackbar (formerly), Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo (formerly)
- Date of Birth: Unknown
- Species: Human
- Last Seen: With the Resistance on The Millennium Falcon
- Possibility of Death: 25%
I hope that we get more Lieutenant Connix in The Rise of Skywalker. She’s never been a character that we’ve seen a lot of — plus, she’s played by Carrie Fisher’s real-life daughter . . . and that is this reason I don’t think they’ll kill her off. Lourd is trying to continue Fisher’s legacy, and I don’t think Star Wars (which is owned by the sentimental Disney) would kill her off. I declare Connix SAFE.
13. Rey
- Actress: Daisy Ridley
- Appearances: Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: The Last Jedi
- Major Affiliations: Resistance, Jedi Order
- Homeworld: Jakku
- Major Allies: Leia, Finn, BB-8, D-O, Chewbacca, Luke Skywalker (formerly), Han Solo (formerly)
- Date of Birth: 15 ABY
- Species: Human
- Last Seen: Talking with Leia about Luke’s death aboard the Millennium Falcon
- Possibility of Death: 25%
Wait, we need to stop everything right here, right now. I just found out the Rotten Tomatoes score released for The Rise of Skywalker (I’m currently typing this sentence on 12/18/2019). And it may not be what you think.
Part 2 Coming Soon
No, I’m just kidding. The RT Score is actually somewhat shocking, so brace yourself: 57%. Yes, the new Star Wars film is officially rotten! However, that’s just a matter of opinion. The reviews are becoming more mixed by the minute, as people either absolutely love it and think it’s their favorite Star Wars film, or people hate it and say it’s easily the worst Star Wars film. I’m going opening night (tomorrow 12/19/2019), so I’ll have to see for myself.
Anyway, with that being said, let’s talk about the probability of Rey dying. It’s possible that in some huge shock twist that nobody sees coming she dies or gets killed, but Star Wars never kills off their main characters — except Anakin, and Luke . . . oh, and also Han . . . Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon bit the dust, too. Maybe I should rethink this . . .
I declare Rey COMFORTABLE.
12. Poe Dameron
- Actor: Oscar Isaac
- Appearances: Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: The Last Jedi
- Major Affiliations: New Republic (formerly), Resistance
- Homeworld: Yavin 4
- Major Allies: Leia, BB-8, Zorii Bliss, Finn, Lieutenant Connix, C-3PO, Rey
- Date of Birth: 2 ABY
- Species: Human
- Last Seen: Introducing himself to Rey aboard the Millennium Falcon
- Percentage of Death: 35%
When I saw The Force Awakens for the first time in January 2016 (the only reason I didn’t see it on opening night was because the film was PG-13 and it needed to be screened for me first by my mom or dad), I was disappointed that Poe wasn’t in it a lot. However, he’s climbed his way to the top, playing a decently central character in The Last Jedi and now being one of what I call the “central three”, which are Rey, Finn, and Poe. For example, in the original trilogy, they were Luke, Han, and Leia, and in the prequel trilogy, I guess you could say they were Anakin, Padmé, and Obi-Wan. It’s possible that one of the central three could be killed off, but I’m not putting my money on Poe. He’s the Han Solo of the sequel trilogy, and could prove that he’s not just a hothead pilot and sacrifice himself for the sake of his Resistance colleagues. It’s definitely a probability, but I’m just not sure, so I think that Poe is COMFORTABLE.
11. Finn
- Actor: John Boyega
- Appearances: Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: The Last Jedi
- Major Affiliations: First Order (formerly), Resistance
- Homeworld: Unknown
- Major Allies: Rey, Poe Dameron, Rose Tico, Jannah, BB-8, Leia
- Date of Birth: 11 ABY
- Species: Human
- Last Seen: Taking care of the unconscious Rose on the Millennium Falcon
- Percentage of Death: 40%
If one of the central three dies, it’s going to be Finn. His entire arc leads towards the possibility of him dying or sacrificing himself: betraying the First Order, destroying his number one enemy (Captain Phasma), and attempting to sacrifice himself in The Last Jedi, though being saved by Rose. And that last reason may be the reason why he won’t die. I’ve said this with a character or two on this list, but because they tried to sacrifice themselves previously, I don’t think Star Wars will take that emotion back. I declare Finn MODERATELY DISTRESSED.
10. Chewbacca
- Actors: Peter Mayhew, Joonas Suotamo
- Appearances: Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith, Solo: A Star Wars Story, Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: The Last Jedi
- Major Affiliations: Galactic Republic (formerly), New Republic (formerly), Resistance
- Homeworld: Kashyyyk
- Major Allies: Leia, Rey, C-3PO, R2-D2, Han Solo (formerly), Luke Skywalker (formerly)
- Date of Birth: 200 BBY
- Species: Wookiee
- Last Seen: On the Millennium Falcon with the Resistance
- Possibility of Death: 45%
I will be horrified if they kill Chewie off! He’s one of my favorite characters not just in Star Wars, but in all films! It’s fairly possible that he could die — some could argue that he has “no purpose” since Han died, and he was just a “noble sidekick” to him. I strongly disagree with that statement, however. I think his character is useful to every single one of the other characters around him, and I hope that he’s in this film slightly more than The Last Jedi, but let’s just hope he doesn’t eat another Porg.
Sadly, the actor who played Chewie in Revenge of the Sith, Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and a few scenes in The Force Awakens, Peter Mayhew, passed away in April of this year — he was seven feet two inches tall! But now Joonas Suotamo has replaced him, and he’s doing a great job (he was Mayhew’s stuntman in The Force Awakens and is six eleven). Anyway, I think Chewie has a pretty decent chance of sacrificing himself for his friends (even though it would be heartbreaking), so I declare him MODERATELY DISTRESSED.
9. Zorii Bliss
- Actress: Keri Russell
- Appearance(s): None yet
- Major Affiliation(s): Spice Runners of Kijimi
- Homeworld: Kijimi
- Major Allies: Poe Dameron, BB-8
- Date of Birth: Unknown
- Species: Human (at least that’s what Wookieepedia says)
- Last Seen: Offscreen
- Possibility of Death: 55%
Another new character: Zorii Bliss. There’s some theories circling around that she may be Rey’s mother, which could make sense, especially if J.J. Abrams is keeping Rian Johnson’s part in writing that Rey’s parents were “nobodies who traded her for drinking money”. However, when Kylo told her that, he also said that they were buried in a grave. So that doesn’t work. We’ve been told that she’s “an old friend” of Poe’s, and she seems like a smuggler, although that might be stereotypical.
For some reason, I think that Zorii is going to die, even though I don’t know why. I would’ve put her at a higher percentage of death, but I’m not sure if she’s gonna kick the bucket or not. I could see a strong confrontation between her and someone else — maybe Kylo — in which the opponent wins, destroying her. We’ll see. I declare Miss Bliss (ooh, poetry) DECENTLY DISTRESSED.
8. Lando Calrissian
- Actors: Billy Dee Williams, Donald Glover
- Appearances: Solo: A Star Wars Story, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi
- Major Affiliations: Galactic Empire (briefly, formerly); New Republic (formerly), Resistance
- Homeworld: Socorro
- Major Allies: Chewie, Leia, C-3PO, R2-D2, Lobot, Han Solo (formerly)
- Date of Birth: Approximately 30 BBY
- Species: Human
- Last Seen: Partying on Endor with a bunch of Ewoks in Return of the Jedi
- Possibility of Death: 60%
Fans have been waiting for the return of Lando Calrissian since 1983 . . . and last year they got it. Donald Glover returned as a younger version of the fan-favorite smuggler in Solo: A Star Wars Story, though fans still wanted Lando to return in the sequel trilogy, as he hadn’t in The Force Awakens or The Last Jedi. Well now they got their other wish. 82-year-old Billy Dee Williams was revealed to be coming back as Lando for The Rise of Skywalker, though some said he wouldn’t have much more than a cameo. We haven’t seen a ton of him in the trailers, but I’m sure we’ll get a decent amount of him.
Lando could definitely die in this, just like Han and Luke both did in The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, respectively. However, I’ve heard there’s a lot of fan service in this film, and I don’t believe fans would be happy if Lando was killed off. Star Wars likes to play it safe, and Lando has a very strong chance of dying, but I’m not quite sure. I personally think he won’t even though it’s a strong possibility, so I declare Mr. Calrissian UNCOMFORTABLE.
7. Maz Kanata
- Actress: Lupita Nyong’o
- Appearances: Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: The Last Jedi
- Major Affiliations: Free Fleet (whatever the heck that is; sounds like some Star Wars version of Meals on Wheels)
- Homeworld: Takodana
- Major Allies: Chewie, Leia, Rey, Han (formerly)
- Date of Birth: Sometime before 996 BBY
- Species: Unknown
- Last Seen: Talking to Finn, Poe, Rose, and C-3PO via hologram during a firefight
- Possibility of Death: 60%
In my opinion, Maz Kanata has been a complete and utter disappointment. She didn’t do anything much in The Force Awakens, and one minute and forty-five seconds of screen time in The Last Jedi, and we’ve been shown one image of her in The Rise of Skywalker (seen above). She was supposed to be the Yoda of the sequel trilogy, but that never worked out. I loved her character in TFA, and I hope she’ll be given more time to shine. (I’m really in the poetry mood today!)
It really depends on her role, but I’m willing to guess that Maz is going to die. Why I say it depends on her role is because I think it would be unnecessary to kill her off if she doesn’t have a big role, and would just feel like extra. However, if she has a decent-sized role, I think she’ll probably die. She still could die if she doesn’t have a big role, but it’s not as likely in my opinion. Unfortunately, we haven’t seen any of Maz in the trailer . . . except if you look really closely at one shot:
I declare Maz UNCOMFORTABLE.
6. C-3PO
- Actor: Anthony Daniels
- Appearances: Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace, Star Wars: Episode II — Attack of the Clones, Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: The Last Jedi
- Major Affiliations: Galactic Republic (formerly), New Republic (formerly), Resistance
- Homeworld: Tatooine
- Major Allies: R2-D2, Leia, Poe, BB-8, D-O, Chewie, Luke (formerly), Han (formerly)
- Date of Construction: Sometime before 32 BBY
- Droid Class: Protocol droid
- Last Seen: Yes, you guessed it: on the Falcon with the rest of the Resistance
- Possibility of Death: 70%
C-3PO’s death was teased in the final trailer when Babu Frik (a tiny droid maker) has pulled out a bunch of his wires, and when asked by Poe what he’s doing, C-3PO replies, “Taking one last look, sir . . . at my friends.”
In the second teaser trailer, we also saw 3PO with red eyes, leading fans to believe that he will turn evil. However, because of the scene in the final trailer, fans now think that Frik is hijacking 3PO so that he can go on a kamikaze mission to destroy the First Order or the revived Empire. I think it’s fairly possible that could happen, but Star Wars can definitely mislead people. A similar death was teased in the Last Jedi‘s final trailer when Kylo confronts his mom Leia, about to press the shoot button on his TIE Silencer, but he really doesn’t in the movie, and Leia doesn’t die. Plus, I would be devastated if 3PO died! Fun fact: Anthony Daniels has been in every single one of the Star Wars films.
I declare 3PO UNCOMFORTABLE.
5. General Leia Organa
- Actresses: Carrie Fisher, Ingvild Deila
- Appearances: Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith (as a baby), Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: The Last Jedi
- Major Affiliations: Imperial Senate (formerly), Galactic Republic (formerly), New Republic (formerly), Resistance
- Homeworld: Alderaan
- Major Allies: Chewie, C-3PO, R2-D2, Poe, Rey, Lieutenant Connix, Lando Calrissian, Han (formerly), Luke (formerly)
- Date of Birth: 19 BBY
- Species: Human
- Last Seen: Talking to Rey on the Millennium Falcon, saying “we have all we need”
- Possibility of Death: 70%
I originally had Leia at number three, then four, and now at five. I had her so high at first because since Carrie Fisher passed away in December 2016 (God bless her), I automatically thought they would kill her character off in The Last Jedi or The Rise of Skywalker. When she didn’t die in TLJ, I realized that she must be planned to get killed off in TROS. However, after reading an article on why she might not die, I realized that she might not, so as to keep Carrie Fisher’s legacy alive. But then again, it’s quite possible that she could die, as it would keep the consistency along with the new trilogy: first Han, then Luke, and then Leia. I still think that she’s going to die, but if she doesn’t, she’ll retire and live out the rest of her life in peace. Leia is officially UNCOMFORTABLE.
4. Allegiant General Pryde
- Actor: Richard E. Grant
- Appearance(s): None yet
- Major Affiliation(s): First Order
- Homeworld: Unknown
- Major Allies: General Hux, Kylo Ren
- Date of Birth: Unknown
- Species: Human
- Last Seen: Offscreen
- Possibility of Death: 75%
The final newbie on this list, Allegiant General Pryde (played by Academy- Award-nominated actor Richard E. Grant) was probably created because two of the major four First Order leaders were killed off in The Last Jedi: Supreme Leader Snoke and Captain Phasma. I don’t know about you, but the First Order is going to be destroyed. I know it. The good guys always win! Now, the reason I didn’t put Pryde at 100% is because there’s always the small possibility of him being turned to the Resistance and living. I highly doubt it, though, so I declare this Allegiant General IN DANGER.
3. Supreme Leader Kylo Ren
- Actor: Adam Driver
- Appearances: Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: The Last Jedi
- Major Affiliations: Jedi Order (formerly), Knights of Ren, First Order
- Homeworld: Chandrila
- Major Allies: Allegiant General Pryde, BB-9E, General Hux (not really an ally, more of an enemy ;)), Captain Phasma (formerly), Supreme Leader Snoke (formerly), Leia (formerly), Han (formerly), Luke (formerly)
- Date of Birth: 5 ABY
- Species: Human
- Last Seen: Searching the Resistance’s base on Crait with Hux after fighting Luke (or his proxy)
- Possibility of Death: 75%
I’m actually not very sure that Kylo will die. It’s a strong possibility, but I’m not quite sure. He’ll either be redeemed or die . . . or both. I hope that The Rise of Skywalker won’t follow Return of the Jedi and redeem him, but I also don’t want him to die, as he’s one of my favorite Star Wars characters! I also don’t want him conflicted, but bad as
. But it’s inevitable. Emperor Palpatine is the big baddy in this film, not Kylo Ren. He’ll probably turn good, fight Palps, and sacrifice himself for Rey. We’ve already seen footage in the trailers of Kylo and Rey working together, and there were leaks that may or may not be true that showed Rey and Kylo both with blue lightsabers. I don’t want a copy of Return of the Jedi, I want an original twist!
Kylo is IN DANGER.
2. General Armitage Hux
- Actor: Domhnall Gleeson
- Appearances: Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: The Last Jedi
- Major Affiliations: Galactic Empire (formerly), First Order
- Homeworld: Arkanis
- Major Allies: Allegiant Gneral Pryde, Kylo Ren (even though they hate each other), Supreme Leader Snoke (formerly), Captain Phasma (formerly)
- Date of Birth: Approximately 0 ABY
- Species: Human
- Last Seen: With Supreme Leader Kylo Ren on Crait searching the Resistance base
- Possibility of Death: 90%
I love General Hux. I think that he’s been in The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi the perfect amount so we get just the right amount of him. But his death is inevitable. Kylo and Hux hate each other more than . . . I don’t have the right analogy to explain it. But they hate each other, and I’m sure Kylo would love nothing more than to squeeze Hux’s little neck. There are rumors that since Hux is giving the Resistance confidential information on the First Order because he doesn’t like Kylo as Supreme Leader at all. The only possible outcome for Hux to live is if he becomes a part of the Resistance and survives. Otherwise, Hux is IN DANGER.
1. Emperor Palpatine
- Actors: Ian McDiarmid, Clive Revill
- Appearances: Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace, Star Wars: Episode II — Attack of the Clones, Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi
- Major Affiliations: Sith Order, Galactic Republic (not really; formerly), Galactic Empire (formerly)
- Homeworld: Naboo
- Major Allies: Kylo Ren (maybe?), Darth Vader (formerly), Darth Maul (formerly), Count Dooku (formerly)
- Date of Birth: Around 84 BBY
- Date of (Apparent) Death: 4 ABY
- Species: Human
- Last Seen: Being tossed down a reactor shaft by Darth Vader
- Possibility of Death: 100%
One of the biggest reveals of the new Star Wars film was that the fan-favorite Emperor Palpatine (played by Ian McDiarmid since 1983) was returning to the big screen, even though he visibly was killed by Darth Vader in Return of the Jedi. He’ll somehow return, though its unknown how (unless he was brought back in Chapter 7 of The Mandalorian, which I haven’t watched yet). But, as I said earlier, the Light Side always wins. Kylo or possibly Rey will destroy him once and for all, possibly proving that that person is the actual Chosen One. I declare Emperor Palpatine JUST PURE OUT OF HOPE.
So that’s who I think is going to die in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Now, before I go, I wanted to give a brief guide of the timeline of Star Wars. There are some who are confused by it, as the order of release isn’t the order in which the films take place. I’ve also included The Mandalorian as well. Here you go:
- Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (Released in 1999; 32 BBY)
- Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (Released in 2002; 22 BBY)
- Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (Released in 2005; 19 BBY)
- Solo: A Star Wars Story (Released in 2018; 13-10 BBY)
- Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (Released in 2016; 0 BBY)
- Star Wars (also called Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope; Released in 1977; 0 BBY and 0 ABY)
- The Empire Strikes Back (also called Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back; Released in 1980; 3 ABY)
- Return of the Jedi (also called Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi; Released in 1983; 4 ABY)
- The Mandalorian (Started its run in 2019; 9 ABY)
- Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Episode 7; Released in 2015; 34 ABY)
- Star Wars: The Last Jedi (Episode 8; Released in 2017; 34 ABY)
- Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (Episode 9; Released in 2019; 35 ABY)
Well, I gotta run since I have to go to The Rise of Skywalker, so happy Star Wars watching, and please leave a comment and go to my YouTube channel Whiz Kid Reviews! And be sure to see Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in theaters.
Whiz Kid out
Excellent!! Now, I am looking forward to the movie tonight!! Plus, I always enjoy going to a movie with you and your dad. You have given me much to think about and anticipate. Thank you.
Excellent work on this post. Great detail and information backing up your thoughts. I enjoyed The Rise of Skywalker. The first half of the film was a little bumpy, but the second half was tons of fun. Oh yeah, can you believe they killed off ________ ?
Thank you, Juddly! Yes, it was somewhat of an emotional ride when _____ was killed off by _____. That was crazy! Who are we talking about, again?
